Windows Error Message At Startup
Fixing “Searching for Boot Record from…” Error message
Files/folders saved on your Windows XP hard drive become inaccessible when the booting process is halted due to file system damage, operating system malfunction, and boot loader (MBR) corruption. Under most of these situations, a black screen or an error message appear at the startup of Windows XP. To get past such boot problems, the user needs to identify its exact cause and act accordingly. However, if the user is not able to resolve the booting issue, then s/he can follow an easy method – reinstall Windows XP and restore data from a valid backup. But, the main problem arises when the data backup file gets corrupted or damaged. In such cases, the only way to access the formatted data is by using an effective third-party File Recovery application.
For in-depth analyses of the above situation, consider a real-time scenario where you attempt to start your Windows XP system and encounter the below error message:
“Searching for Boot record from CDRom – Not Found
Searching for Boot record from SCSI – Not Found
Searching for Boot record from Floppy – Not Found
Boot Failure
Reboot and Select Proper Boot Device
or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot Drive
Press any key when ready”
After the above error message appears, the system becomes unbootable, resulting in inaccessibility of data saved in the hard drive. Additionally, the same boot failure error message appears repeatedly each time you try to boot your system.
Cause:
The above error message appears when the MBR (Master Boot Record) gets damaged or corrupted. Few main causes of MBR corruption are improper system shutdown, virus infection, and operating system damage.
Solution:
To work around the above error message and to access data saved in your hard drive, follow the below mentioned steps:
Run the below command to repair MBR:
FIXMBR device name
While the above command might repair the MBR, it might also result in complete damage of partition tables. In such cases, you need to format your system and restore data from an up-to-date backup. But in case no backup is available, then you will need to search for a commercial File Recovery utility. A File Recovery Software recoups all formatted files and folders, regardless of their size and type.
Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery performs recovery from NTFS, NTFS5, FAT12, FAT16, FAT32, and VFAT file system partitions post formatting. The File Recovery Software is designed for Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2003, and 2000.

Error Message $116.3 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. An error message is information displayed when an unexpected condition occurs, usually on a computer or other device. On modern operating systems with graphical user interfaces, error messages are often displayed using dialog boxes. Error messages are used when user intervention is required, to indicate that a desired operation has failed, or to relay important warnings (such as warning a computer user that they are almost out of hard disk space). Error messages are seen widely throughout computing, and are part of every operating system or computer hardware device. Proper design of error messages is an important topic in usability and other fields of humancomputer interaction. Message Loop in Microsoft Windows $175.25 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Microsoft Windows programs are eventbased. They act upon messages that the operating system posts to the main application thread. These messages are received from the message queue by the application by repeatedly calling the GetMessage (or PeekMessage) function in a section of code called the event loop. Though not strictly required, its conventional for the event loop to call TranslateMessage and DispatchMessage, which transfers the message to the callback procedure associated with the window the message refers to. Modern graphical interface frameworks, such as Visual Basic and Qt do not typically require applications to directly access the Windows message loop, but instead automatically route events such as keypresses and mouse clicks to their appropriate handlers as defined within the framework. Underlying these frameworks, however, the message loop can again be found, and can typically be accessed when more direct control is required.
