What do you think of the Trojan War?

I’m not talking about the hollywood here. I think the whole story is fascinating. I’ve suddenly developed interest in it (don’t know why) and have been reading some articles and watching documentaries about it. Of course, I know that half of the story Homer told was most probably made-up (especially about the gods and godesses and all that), but the idea of it was really interesting. And there were actually facts that Troy actually existed. And so was Paris and Helen.

How much of the story do you think actually happened? Do you think Achilles existed? And do you really think the Greeks built that horse and successfully tricked the Trojans? And I can’t help hating Paris, I mean, if he really wanted Helen why did he had to keep her in Troy? Why not just dissappear and thus, save the Trojan warriors from the trouble of war. And to think, a woman, could cause a 10-year war.. Ok, so maybe that part was made-up. But still..

well the war was more than 10 years it was actually 15 and a half years long, on my point of view even if Paris took Helen away from Troy, Agamemnom, Menelaus Brother, he would have invaded troy either way, he wanted to have controll over the entire world, without realizing that he was getting obsess with power. as for me Troy had a really big oportunity to wing even with out Hector their finest warrior, and prince to the throne of Troy after Paris. the pride of the Troyan let them to their own perdition. when the greeks decided to use it against them they say well they love horses and a big horse that if we tell them they cant get into the city because is too big they will do it, inside carying Odysious troops when every body was sleep they opened the doors for the rest of the greek army to enter. my point is if they had nat have that much pride in them they would have not fall into that trap. now the gods we might never know, but as I see it if they exist Apallo needs to improve his shooting, for as the story says he shooted arrows in fire to the greeks but instead he burned Troy. I love greek mythology I preatty much know every single version of almost all the storys and if you are interested in knowing more you can reach me at my e-mail r.alejandro58@yahoo.com
