How should I remove Trojan horse SpamTool.EVL?

My system just detected Trojan horse SpamTool.EVL in my C:WindowsTempkqnk.tmpsvchost.exe and other files.
I am using free-AVG anti-virus on Windows Vista. When I tried to heal or remove the detected threat, my anti-virus somehow failed to detect this threat thus making it impossible to be removed using the anti-virus.
I hope anyone of you could help with the instruction to delete this threat from my system even if it requires me to do it in safemode (other than re-formatting or purchasing full version of anti-virus)
