Trojan Horse?

Ive downloaded a file that i thought was something else, however, it turned out to be a Torjan Horse…
All i know about a Torjan Horse is that its a virus.. Can it cause damage to my computer? And is there a possible way of getting rid of them.. if so, how?
Also, could anyone explain to me what exactly is a Torjan Horse as i obviously dont know much about them.
I don’t know how to get rid of them, so far, ive typed the name “Torjan Horse” into the search place on my computer, and have deleted any files that have come up… will that help?

Searching for “Trojan Horse” on your computer is useless, a trojan horse will not identify itself as one.
