Trojan Horse And War

a couple of questions about the trojan war?

who fought who during the trojan war and which side was odysseus on?

and the trojan horse was used against troy right?
odyseus like the odyssey and iliad

The Trojan began after Helen left her husband Menelaus, King of Sparta, for Paris, a prince of Troy. Menelaus gathered together his allies; his brother Agamemnon, King of Mycenae, Odysseus of Ithaca, Achilles, and Ajax to name a few.

On the other side were the Trojans led by Prince Hector and King Priam.

The Trojan Horse was used by the Odysseus etc against the Trojans. After ten or so years of fighting the battle had entered a stalemate and Odysseus and co were still unable to get beyond the walls of Troy. The Trojan horse was built and Odysseus etc hid inside it whilst it was left on the beach. The ships of the Spartans etc left the coast to give the idea that they had given up and that the horse was left as a gift or peace offering. The Trojans celebrated their “victory” by bringing the horse into their city, and during the night those hidden inside crept out and destroyed the city, winning the war.
