my computer is xp home.I tried to repair it but a second copy of xp installed instead.How to remove fresh copy

My xp home became very slow.I tried to repair it using my recovery cd but by a mistake a second copy of xp home installed which reduced the disk space on C: DRIVE..How to remove fresh copy of xp home. Please help me . Thanks.

I only have 2 answers for this one, and the first is a long shot.
-Try system restore. Start> all programs> accessories> system tools> system restore. Chances are, this will only restore to the time of the clean install though.
-If you have your OS disc(not the restore disc)reformat and reinstall OS. I suggest DBAN(Darik’s Boot and Nuke) for wiping the HD. This will COMPLETELY wipe the drive.

Update:
Interestingly enough, I answered a question a little while ago that is somewhat related to this one. Because you have installed one over the other, you will have lots of files that you cannot access/delete because of the ownership properties. To resolve this problem, try the following methods(copy & pasted my answer from other question):

1. Boot into safe mode(usually by tapping F8, Pause/Break, or Del during start-up)and delete the files from there.
2. Try one of the apps listed below(links 2&3). The first one looks like the best, and was suggested in a Forum that I trust.
3.It is possible to “take ownership” of files manually. It is a pain if there are many folders, but useful nonetheless. Rather than type it all out, I’ve found the instructions online(last link).
