I need a computer Doctor?

my laptop has been shutting down constantly, its extremely hot and super slow..i been paying for high speed internet (well logging into one)

Its a IBM thinkPad not sure what year its old..its all i have.

so Doc what is your diagnosis?

is my laptop coming to an end? or is there something i could do to say it?

she’s all i have when I’m relaxing at home :(
Oh it also has a white line in between the screen..
i meant Save it not “say” see it also gives me a lot of spelling erros…
G24 thank you but your basically telling me that my computer is dying :( that sucks…
thanks Biallow but yah i had better days, but no $500.00 is like a million to me at this time..thanks for you help..

mask dude…thanks for they sympathy i knew i could count on you for support…i wont invite you to the funeral cuz i wont have a way to invite you…its dying again gotta go

I would suggest you reformat the hard drive, you may have too much information/programs on it.

If you don’t want reformat, dump all the programs you don’t want or need this hopefully will speed things up. BUT KEEP THE LAPTOP COOL.

also to keep the laptop cool, raise it off the table (rest it on some books) so air can circulate underneath the laptop.

You can buy laptop coolers from computer shops.

SLOW DOWN is a Enhanced CD containing both a full audio program as well as multimedia computer files.Personnel: Keb’ Mo’ (vocals, guitar, harmonica); Colin Linden (guitar, mandolin); Anders Osborne (guitar, background vocals); Joellen Friedkin (accordion, keyboards, synthesizers); Gerald Albright (tenor saxophone); Reggie Young (trombone); John Lewis Parker (keyboards, samples); John Barnes (keyboards); Reggie McBride (bass); Laval Belle (drums); Munyungo Jackson (percussion); Sir Harry Bowens, Sweet Pea Atkinson, Lisa Linson (background vocals).Producers: Keb’ Mo’, John Lewis Parker, Chuck Trammell. All tracks have been digitally mastered using HDCD technology.SLOW DOWN won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album.Let’s dispel a common misconception right off the bat; Keb Mo is not a blues singer. To call him one would be as limiting as calling Lyle Lovett a country singer. He’s got his finger in too many musical pies to be tied down to one tradition. As SLOW DOWN makes plain, his songs are certainly bluesy, but like Taj Mahal, he takes the style an mingles it with so many others that a new paradigm is created.Keb Mo’s snappy, soulful acoustic guitar is the central element of most of the tunes here, but there’s everything from funk to R&B to ’70s-sounding rock-pop at work in these songs. As a composer, Keb Mo knows how to get down to the basics of human emotions and trials without lapsing into cliche, and his no-nonsense vocal delivery communicates his message effectively. Blues traditionalists may not get what they’ve been led to expect from SLOW DOWN, but if they’ve got butts and feet, they won’t be able to keep ‘em still.

One morning in 2000, Dr. Jane Hightower walked into her exam room to find a patient with disturbing symptoms she couldn’t explain. The woman was nauseated, tired, and had difficulty concentrating, but a litany of tests revealed no apparent cause. She was not alone. Dr. Hightower saw numerous patients with similar, inexplicable ailments, and eventually learned that there were many more around the nation and the world. They had little in common—except a healthy appetite for certain fish. Dr. Hightower’s quest for answers led her to mercury, a poison that has been plaguing victims for centuries and is now showing up in seafood. But this “explanation” opened a Pandora’s Box of thornier questions. Why did some fish from supermarkets and restaurants contain such high levels of a powerful poison? Why did the FDA base its recommendations for “safe” mercury consumption on data supplied by Saddam Hussein’s Ba’athist extremists? And why wasn’t the government warning its citizens? In Diagnosis: Mercury, Dr. Hightower retraces her investigation into the modern prevalence of mercury poisoning, revealing how political calculations, dubious studies, and industry lobbyists endanger our health. While mercury is a naturally occurring element, she learns there’s much that is unnatural about this poison’s prevalence in our seafood. Mercury is pumped into the air by coal-fired power plants and settles in our rivers and oceans, and has been dumped into our waterways by industry. It accumulates in the fish we eat, and ultimately in our own bodies. Yet government agencies and lawmakers have been slow to regulate pollution or even alert consumers.  Why? The trail of evidence leads to Canada, Japan, Iraq, and various U.S. institutions, and as Dr. Hightower puts the pieces together, she discovers questionable connections between ostensibly objective re
