Why does my computer get slow only a few hours after I clean it up?

When it’s slow I do a scan with Ad Aware, Disk cleanup, I clear the browser history and cookies and it’s fast again but it only lasts a few hours and then I have to do it all over again. I even do a defrag. Is this normal? I mean I would expect it to last longer without a problem, but it starts to slow down a lot after only a few hours . I think I do the clean up like 2 times a day on average. Why is this happening?
