virus trouble answer quickly please!?

I downloaded a file then my pc all of a sudden wenthaywire with a bunch of anti-virus things pooping up saying i had like 50 viruses. I only have the full version of mcafee. I learned that if i put firewall lockdown on then the viruses would stop downloading things but my pc qould still crash. So now i have to use safe mode internet connection to be safe and still have internet. But i want my normal version back how can i get rid of the viruses. Through mcafee or a free virus deleter? plz help an i will be doing best answer

REMOVING ROGUE SOFTWARE AND TROJANS:

Download, update and scan your computer with Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware, delete what ever they find, run SmitfraudFix if this fails to completely remove all the infections, all the software below is completely free and safe to use.

Once you have removed the infections download Avast and Comodo Pro firewall, then switch to Firefox 3 if you are browsing with IE this should stop the virus returning. (links on my profile)
