my laptop is infected with advertisements of protection programs!help!?

i get different pop ups every couple of minutes saying i have spyware/trojans etc. along with advertisements for programs, the homepage is always a different type of virus protection, even balloons from the task bar pops up every 5 minutes to say that i have viruses, which just leads to a webpage advertising more programs.
