Resolving 0x80071ab0 Stop Error Message in Windows Vista

Windows Preinstallation Environment (Windows PE) is a lightweight version of Windows Vista, XP or 2003. It is mainly used for deployment of servers and workstations. It controls the early boot process and comes with Windows Automated Installation Kit (WAIK). However, you might encounter a STOP error message after creating a Windows PE image file on a hard drive. Various factors responsible for occurrence of a STOP error message can be FAT file system (due to Windows Vista incompatibility), operating system file corruption, malicious software like virus etc. The data saved in the hard drive becomes inaccessible once you receive a STOP error message. In such situations, if there is no backup available, you need to use advanced and powerful Data Recovery Software.

As a practical scenario, you create a Microsoft Windows PE image file on your Windows Vista based hard drive. However, when you attempt to add a package to your image file, you encounter the below error message:

“0x80071ab0”

After the above STOP error message appears, the data saved in the hard disk becomes inaccessible.

Cause:

The root cause for occurrence of the above error message is that you have not formatted your hard drive with NTFS file system.

Resolution:

To resolve the above problem and access the data, you need to convert the file system of your hard drive to NTFS. To do so, you need to follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Start button, type command in the Start Search box and press Enter
  2. Right-click Command Prompt in the Programs list, select Run as Administrator
  3. If you receive a UAC (User Account Control) prompt to enter Administrator password,  enter the password and click Continue
  4. Type the below command at the command prompt and press ENTER:

convert drive letter: /fs:ntfs

But, if you still encounter the same error message after completion of file system conversion, you need to go for a clean reinstall of Windows Vista. A clean reinstall erases all the files and folders previously stored on the hard drive. To successfully recover and restore the lost files, you need to use effective File Recovery application. Such recovery applications use high-end scanning methods to provide absolute Data Recovery, even from a formatted hard drive. With their easy-to-understand interface, these applications act as user-friendly tools to recover lost data files.

Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery meets all the above standards and achieves finest Data Recovery results. This Data Recovery Software natively supports more than 300 file types. It is compatible with FAT16, FAT32, vFAT, NTFS and NTFS5 file systems. It supports Windows Vista, XP, 2003 and 2000.

Wireless Networking with Microsoft Windows Vista

Wireless Networking with Microsoft Windows Vista

$3.98

Networking has become commonplace in the home. In years past, it took a trained technician to set up and manage a computer network; that’s not the case anymore. With more and more households having multiple PCs, there is an increased demand to network those PCs to share files, peripherals, and an Internet connection. And it’s become much easier to create a home network, thanks to easier-to-use wireless networking technologies and equipment. The problem is setting up a wireless network can still be somewhat confusing, and often difficult. Even setting up a simple wireless network to share an Internet connection can be a frustrating trial-and-error process. What kind of wireless network should you choose — 802.11a, b, g, or n? What equipment do you need? How do you configure all your computers to work on the network? How do you share a single printer on your network? The confusion continues when one considers the different issues related to different operating systems. Setting up a wireless network under Windows Vista is much different than setting up a similar network under Windows XP. Users are looking for simple answers to all these questions. Unfortunately, most networking books today are geared toward technology-savvy networking professionals. Where does the average user turn to for solutions to his wireless networking problems? The answer is this book — "Wireless Networking with Windows Vista."
