Blank Error Message Adobe Reader
windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close?? 10 points!?
Hi.
My laptop (sony Vaio) has recently been fixed from a hall.dll missing file error which was causing it to not start up. But now i have another problem. When my laptop starts up i get the message ‘Windows explorer has encountered a problem and will not start’, with 2 options; ‘Debug’ and ‘close’ ; clicking either of them results in the screen going blank, then coming back again but with the message still there. I have checked more tehnical information for this and the modname seems to be ‘msi.dll’ Add/remove programs also will not start with the error message; ‘run a dll as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close’ this also has the modname: msi.dll. this happens with several other applications inluding java, adobe reader/acrobat/ windows live messenger.
I do not have an XP boot/installation disk so please could you give alternative means !?
thanks so much.
Try doing a System Restore, it may not fix the problem but it seems to be a system based problem, and it’s completely reversible. Just set to restore back to a point before you had all your problems and let it do it’s thing.
System Restore can be found in your Control Panel

Error Message $116.3 Please note that the content of this book primarily consists of articles available from Wikipedia or other free sources online. An error message is information displayed when an unexpected condition occurs, usually on a computer or other device. On modern operating systems with graphical user interfaces, error messages are often displayed using dialog boxes. Error messages are used when user intervention is required, to indicate that a desired operation has failed, or to relay important warnings (such as warning a computer user that they are almost out of hard disk space). Error messages are seen widely throughout computing, and are part of every operating system or computer hardware device. Proper design of error messages is an important topic in usability and other fields of humancomputer interaction. Error Guessing $71.7 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Error Guessing is a software testing design technique based on the ability of the tester to draw on his past experience, knowledge and intuition to predict where bugs will be found in the software under test. Some typical error areas to guess are: empty or null strings, zero instances, occurrences, blank or null characters in strings, negative numbers. There are no specific tools and techniques to use for Error Guessing: test cases can be designed depending on the situation, either drawing from functional documents or when an unexpected/undocumented error is found while testing operations. Runtime Error 200 $70.1 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Runtime error 200 is the standard error message by Borlands Pascal compilers, standing for Division by zero. Many older computer programs for the MSDOS operating system fail immediately on loading with this error message. In many case they were compiled with an older version of the Borland or Turbo Pascal compiler, which often generated programs which failed if executed on computers with processors faster than about 200 MHz.Borland and Turbo Pascals standard libraries included a procedure called delay(n), code created for halting the execution of the program for a given number of milliseconds. Due to the initializing of the CRT unit, this procedure is called even if the software itself doesnt do it explicitly. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Timpledon, Miriam T./ Marseken, Susan F. A Wilderness of Error (Hardcover) $47.41 Academy Award-winning documentary filmmaker and former private detective Errol Morris examines the nature of evidence and proof in the infamous Jeffrey MacDonald murder case Early on the morning of February 17, 1970, in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, a Green Beret doctor named Jeffrey MacDonald called the police for help. When the officers arrived at his home they found the bloody and battered bodies of MacDonald`s pregnant wife and two young daughters. The word "pig" was written in blood on the headboard in the master bedroom. As MacDonald was being loaded into the ambulance, he accused a band of drugcrazed hippies of the crime. So began one of the most notorious and mysterious murder cases of the twentieth century. Jeffrey MacDonald was finally convicted in 1979 and remains in prison today. Since then a number of bestselling books- including Joe McGinniss`s Fatal Vision and Janet Malcolm`s The Journalist and the Murderer-and a blockbuster television miniseries have attempted to solve the MacDonald case and explain what it all means. In A Wilderness of Error, Errol Morris, who has been investigating the case for nearly two decades, reveals that almost everything we know about that case is ultimately flawed, and an innocent man may be behind bars. In a masterful reinvention of the true-crime thriller, Morris looks behind the haze of myth that still surrounds these murders. Drawing on court transcripts, lab reports, and original interviews, Morris brings a complete forty-year history back to life and demonstrates how our often desperate attempts to understand and explain an ambiguous reality can overwhelm the facts. A Wilderness of Error allows the reader to explore the case as a detective might by confronting the evidence as if for the first time. Along the way Morris poses bracing questions about the nature of proof, criminal justice, and the media, and argues that MacDonald has been condemned not o |
