help with blackberry 8100 pearl?

I have had my blackberry for about 6/7 months, my phone will show a message (dont have enough time to read it) then the phone just shuts off, i also have another problem, it keeps saying SOS sim card error, any ideas what could be wrong?

When you get the sos message it means the phone is not reading the sim card, so you either have t-mobile or at&t….. as for the message i would have to know what it says
