If you want an instant fix without dropping any money, and getting your fix-up legally, get Avast! anti-virus, home edition. I’ll put a link below in the source.

If you really want to spend money on an anti-virus, the only one worthwhile is NOD32. I’ll give you a link below for that as well. Many people live by Norton or Mcafee, but both of them are system resource pigs, especially if you want to run their full program suite packages.

As for the firewall issue, that’s a whole different question in and of itself.
