Adware Remover Free?

I now use Spybot Search and Destroy to adware from my pc that I run manually, but I'm paying $ 50 per year per PC. Are there free downloads that can do that? My goal is to regularly clean my PC of unwanted software. I protection AVG Free virus that seems to work better than Norton, I used to pay.
