Antispyware Wikipedia
possible spyware blocks wikipedia, youtube, google images?
hi. recently all 3 sites provide a page load error. it’s isolated to this machine; happens at multiple locations & other computers at this location access the pages fine. firefox 3.0.5. ran symantec, avg antispyware, smitfraudfix, & spybot. disconnected router & rebooted. no connection from IE either. i don’t recall making any changes around the time this occurred. i was able to ping the sites. as fate would have it, a search engine is showing a page that seems to address my exact symptoms, but it’s on wikipedia… i’ve run out of tricks here, and i don’t know enough about registry keys to go mucking about. please help?
right, forgot to mention i turned off my firewall and antivirus software with no changes.

Yes, some forms of malware can do that … through your hosts file … check that you have folder options set up to show hidden and system files, look in (Windows/WINNT) system32/drivers/etc … at least that’s where mine is … if not, use search with advanced options to show hidden and system files … MAKE A BACKUP COPY … open it in Notepad, remove any entries that refer to sites you can’t get to, save and try the sites again …
