Predictable Serial Number Attack

Predictable Serial Number Attack

$68.51

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles A predictable serial number attack is a form of security exploit in which the algorithm for generating serial numbers for a particular purpose is guessed, discovered, or reverse engineered, a new serial number is predicted using the algorithm, and the newly generated serial number is then used for a fraudulent purpose, either to obtain an undeserved benefit or to deny service to the legitimate holder of the serial number. Suppose there is a phone card available for sale that offers telephone service by entering the serial number printed on the card. Alice legitimately purchases a phone card in order to call Bob, and her card has the serial number 0003. The attacker, Mallory, also purchases two phone cards, and notices that the serial numbers printed on her phone cards are 0001 and 0002. After consuming the value on cards 0001 and 0002, Mallory guesses the algorithm used for generating these serial numbers is a simple sequence and predicts that 0003 is a valid serial number, enters 0003 when prompted, and gets additional phone service. Compactpci Serial

Compactpci Serial

$82.85

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles CompactPCI Serial is a new industrial standard for modular computer systems. It is based on the established PICMG 2.0 CompactPCI standard, which uses the parallel PCI bus for communication among a systems card components. In contrast to this, CompactPCI Serial uses only serial pointtopoint connections. CompactPCI Serial is currently being standardized by the PCI Industrial Computer Manufacturers Group PICMG as PICMG CPCIS.0 CompactPCI Serial. Its mechanical concept is based on the proven standards of IEEE 110111998 and IEEE 1101101996 (19 technology). CompactPCI Serial includes different connectors that permit very high data rates. The new technology standard succeeding parallel CompactPCI comprises another specification called PICMG 2.30 CompactPCI PlusIO. This is why CompactPCI Serial and CompactPCI PlusIO as a whole were also called CompactPCI Plus. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Serial Offenders

Serial Offenders

$191.1

Although serial offenders have been a recognized problem in society for centuries, only recently have the complexities of these individuals come to light. Serial Offenders: Current Thought, Recent Findings presents current and inclusive information on serial offending in a clear and straightforward manner. Citing numerous case examples, this book will provide forensic psychologists and psychologists, as well as criminologists, social workers and corrections officials with relevant and informative data. Author Louis B. Schlesinger presents current thinking on serial offenders in the first of three parts contained in the text. In Part I, he covers serial homicide, child molestation, rape, arson, and the nonviolent serial offender, while offering new information and perspectives on these traditional problems. Part II reverses thought, and takes a look at recent clinical and research findings. From profiling by lawenforcement and healthcare workers to the neurobiological approach to understanding why people continually commit these crimes, Part II delves beyond right and wrong to illuminate and identify the many shades of gray. Part III focuses on the unusual aspects of serial offending and on special populations of offenders. From infantophilia to serial offending by females, adolescents and members of the clergy, Schlesinger provides insight into a world that few have witnessed in such a comprehensive manner.
