In our fast changing technology computer is a big factor why our lives nowadays are simpler and easier. Almost 90% of all businesses worldwide uses computers and over %80 of these users have a high speed internet so therefore; these users are very prone to viruses, spywares, rootkits, and other malicious softwares or what we call malwares which are created to harm computers. With this being said Antivirus plays a very significant role as prevention from these threats. When we talk about the scanning capabilities of these programs I can pretty much say it has what a consumer is looking for, includes on-access, scheduled, heuristic and manual scanning. Other features of these antivirus programs are history/report Logging and password protect Settings. It also supports different platforms such as Windows 2000, Windows xp (64 bit), Windows xp (32bit), Windows vista (64 bit) and Windows vista (32 bit). Now let’s talk about the downside of these antivirus programs. There is only one bad thing about these softwares that is its compatibility with MAC OS X users though they’re not that prone with viruses but still they need protection. But overall I’ll give these programs two thumbs up.

One is to statically scan potential malware sample files for certain patterns which are known ( malware signatures ).
