Anti Virus On Thumb Drive
How do I access a “corrupted” file of a thumb drive in Excel?
I have a VERY important Excel document stored on a thumb drive which I access everyday. This morning upon attempting to open I got this error message “ContactList.xls cannot be accessed. This file may be read only, or you may be trying to access a read only location. Or, the server the document is store on may not be responding.”
The file is not read only and I am using my home computer. Nothing has changed since yesterday when I accessed it last. I have run spyware/anti virus programs, attempted to copy, re-save, rename, etc.
If anyone can help PLEASE let me know!
PS…I KNOW I should’ve saved it on my hard drive or backed it up in another location…but I didn’t…Thanks!

I have used the recovery software before and it works good. No guarantee it will work, but worth a go at it.
