Anti Virus In Safe Mode

is the virus permanently gone after being deleted in safe mode?
trojan virus that Norton anti virus could not remove after about half an hour of trying everything
after going in to safe mode and deleting it and emptying the recycle bin it was gone after 3 seconds. it appears to be gone in normal mode too
is it definetely gone? have the problems the virus caused been immediately repaired for instance the ‘back door’ it opened, will that be closed off?
what is the security status is now
Since Norton is a piece of crap you may still be infected with something else it missed(the fact you have been able to delete manually it shows how bad it is).
Probably yes. Some yes (the backdoor) some not (all the other hidden modifications you don’t know yet).
Your system has been breached (where one comes more will follow) and Norton compromised (get rid of it).
First do an online scan and clean with http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html AND http://www.ewido.net/en/onlinescan/
Now it’s time to replace that miserable insecurity software that you use; download the installers for
browser – http://www.opera.com/ – use this instead that malware magnet IE
antivirus – http://www.avast.com/
antispyware – http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=435BFCE7-DA2B-4A6A-AFA4-F7F14E605A0D&displaylang=en/
…………….. – http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/index.html
firewall – http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/
They are all the best in their category and FREE.
Unplug the internet line, uninstall the junk and install these (if
necessary in safe mode) one by one with each necessary reboot done.
Reconnect the line and update them (Spybot has it manual).
From now on be very attentive at any abnormal behaviour (slow, windows not responding, strange processes in Task Manager) of your pc

What the Virus $111.53 Antivirus software is a key security technology on todays end user systems. Current antivirus engines use two complementary techniques to detect malware. One is to statically scan potential malware sample files for certain patterns which are known ( malware signatures ). The other is to dynamically detect typical malicious behavior (e.g., modifications of registry keys, DLL injections etc.) upon execution of a sample. No antivirus product can reliably detect malware. Rather, all products are plagued by false positives and false negatives. An interesting approach to improve the reliability of detection is to run several antivirus products on a given malware sample. There are several online scanning services, that implement this approach. However, for performance reasons these services only use the static signature detection functionality of the anti virus products, and thus do not take advantage of the full functionality of current antivirus engines. This book explains how to overcome this limitation and to build an efficient online malware scanning service that fully utilizes the capabilities of current antivirus engines. Infectious Salmon Anemia Virus $79.66 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Infectious salmon anemia or anaemia (ISA) is a viral disease of Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar) that affects fish farms in Canada, Norway, Scotland and Chile, causing severe losses to infected farms. The disease is listed as a nonexotic disease of the EU and is therefore watched closely by the European Community Reference Laboratory for Fish Diseases. The aetiological agent of ISA is the infectious salmon anemia virus (ISAV). ISAV, a RNA virus, is the only species in the genus Isavirus which is in the family Orthomyxoviridae. Infectious salmon anemia appears to be most like influenza viruses. Its mode of transfer and the natural reservoirs of infectious salmon anemia virus are not fully understood. Apart from Atlantic salmon, both searun Brown trout (Salmo trutta) and Rainbow trout (Onchorhyncus mykiss) can be infected, but do not become sick, so it is thought possible that these species may act as important carriers and reservoirs of the virus.
