Is there a free and reliable anti-virus software I could download off the internet?

I just bought a new laptop which doesn’t come with an anti-virus protection. I am using the trial version of Norton Internet protection and it expires soon. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am a computer tech in Indiana and we put those on peoples computers who can’t afford Norton or any other rip off anti-virus hahaha. Just go to google and type in AVG free and it will be right there and its an easy install.
