How to get rid of a Trenderdia virus?

I downloaded winRAR from cnet.com and now a Trenderdia box pops up on my desktop with a message saying “you will be dead next month”, also internet home page has changed to Microsoft security center – your computer has been attacked by spyware or virus – please download anti spyware now.

check and replace your hosts file:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

It should look like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost

Delete yours and repalce it from another machine – or recreate using the above..Good luck
