Anti Virus Boot Usb
What if I canât back up my data due to a virus or other problem?
Periodically your system will not let you do normal functions such as copying and/or moving file. Although there may be many reasons the main reason is most likely due to a virus or spyware program. These can get nasty and you won’t even know it. They can slow down or crash your computer delete and/or over write file but, even worse, steel your personal information.
How can I solve this?
Once you have this problem things can be tough and sometimes expensive. Even a good technical may take a while to get out the malicious program. Periodically no human being can do this. Some viruses and spyware programs are very aggressive and can do a lot of damage real quick. Needless to say this can get expensive just in labor costs. You will need to get your data backed up also.
What if you can’t remove the virus or spyware program?
This is a great question. First of all you need to find a way to get your data backed up. This is were you need to know a little about what your doing. If you don’t understand how to do the following steps please get somebody that does.
·   Open you computer case
·   Take out your hard drive by removing all attached cables
·   Find another computer and attach the drive to the cable
·   If the drive is an IDE (Parallel) hard drive you need to set the jumper to slave
·   If you have an Serial ATA drive plug it into an available connection on the motherboard
·   Boot the computer
·   Now you should be able to see and access the hard drive you attached
·   PLEASE!! Scan this hard drive with a high quality anti-spyware program. This should remove any virus or spyware you have
·   After you have scanned the computer BACK UP your data by copying your data to the main computer or to a USB drive. If you copy your data before you do a scan you may be copying the virus or spyware program
·   Reinstall the hard drive. Be sure to switch the jumper back to master if you have an IDE hard drive
·   Check to be sure that all viruses and spyware are removed.
·   If you still have problems you will need to reload the operating system
Another problem could be a bad hard drive. If the hard drive is making noises this very likely the cause. Copy your data as soon as possible and replace your hard drive. If you have never done this get an expert to do it. Be sure that all your important files are copied (If possible). If the drive is mechanically bad it could cost a lot of money to “possibly†recover your data. This is exactly why you should continuously back up your data and e-mail.
