Solving the "verify or repair the file system has failed" error
The Mac OS X file are considered as relatively safer in terms of corruption. This is due to a host of features like crash recovery, journaling file system, However, there are still situations that can corrupt Mac OS X volumes. These volumes include metadata structures, such as, MDB (Master Directory Block) file Catalog, etc. that might corrupt the volume and make it inaccessible for Mac OS X user. Most of these corruptions can be detected and repaired Integrated Utility called Disk Utility. "But if the problem is not resolved, you must remove the damaged volume, provided, a good backup of data required are available. But if such a backup does not exist, run a Mac Data Recovery Software and extract all possible data.
Disk "utility" can not repair the damaged volume in many cases. To support the fact, we Consider a realistic situation in which a user Mac OS X tries to mount a volume that has been called "Volume1. This volume contains the files and folders important, but when an attempt is made to mount, it can not be mounted. Running Disk Utility on this volume shows the error messages below:
Verifying volume "Volume 1"
Checking Journaled HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow File.
Invalid map node
Checking Catalog file.
Invalid link brother
Volume check failed.
Error: filesystem verify or repair failed.
This error Disk Utility "indicates that the volume is corrupted – The File System volume is corrupt. Such errors do not allow access to files and folders stored in the affected volume.
How to solve?
Questions that can not be fixed by Disk Utility "must be resolved by running fsck manually. For do this, start the computer in single user mode and while the computer starts, press Command "and S keys down. Then you must type fsck-fy.
If the problem persists, you can remove the volume and restore the backup data. However, extracting data damaged volume, you will need a Mac file recovery solution. Mac Data Recovery Software is easy to use and can scan a damaged volume Mac to recover all the lost data.
Stellar Phoenix Macintosh Data Recovery is a powerful utility that recovers lost or inaccessible data from hard running on Mac OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.x, Leopard 10.5.x, 10.4.x Tiger and Panther 10.3.9 computers. It is a simple Mac Data Recovery utility that supports HFS HFSX, HFS +, HFS Wrapper file systems.

Error Control Coding: From Theory to Practice $62.98 Error-controlled coding techniques are used to detect and/or correct errors that occur in the message transmission in a digital communications system. Wireless personal channels used by mobile communications systems and storage systems for digital multimedia data all require the implementation of error control coding methods. Demonstrating the role of coding in communication and data storage system design, this text illustrates the correct use of codes and the selection of the right code parameters. Relevant decoding techniques and their implementation are discussed in detail. Providing communication systems engineers and students with guidance in the application of error-control coding, this book emphasizes the fundamental concepts of coding theory while minimising the use of mathematical tools. * Reader-friendly approach ti coding in communication systems providing examples of encoding and decoding, information theory and criteria for code selection * Thorogh descriptions of relevant application, including telephony on satellite links, GSM, UMTS and multimedia standards, CD, DVD and MPEG * Provides coverage of the fundamentals of coding and the applications of codes to the design of real error control systems * End of chapter problems to test and develop understanding |
