Antivirus software is specifically designed to protect your computer, so if it doesn’t do that well, what good is it to have on your computer? All the features, bells and whistles, or sleek interface can’t make up for poor computer performance.
What happened to easy installation and setup? Security software shouldn’t be a chore to install, and should have you protected as soon as possible. From download to install, to the first scan; implementing Antivirus software should be quick and easy. Antivirus software is complex stuff, but shouldn’t require a degree in computer science to get it installed on your computer.
The best security programs have all the features security experts want, but are just as easily used by a beginner. Everyday computer users want a security solution that they can install and forget about; software that doesn’t require constant maintenance or have annoying interruptions. The best Antivirus Software is flexible enough to do exactly what you want it to, even if that means running by itself.
Antivirus is by no means a panacea. On the other hand, an Antivirus program with up-to-date signatures will protect you from a lot of threats. It’ll protect you against Viruses, Spyware, Trojan Horses, Worms, Adware, and all sorts of Malware. It’ll run in the background, automatically, and it won’t slow your computer down at all. And — here’s the best part — it can be free.
Actually, this is an easy trade-off, certainly for the average computer user who clicks on attachments he probably shouldn’t click on, downloads things he probably shouldn’t download, and doesn’t understand the finer workings of windows personal firewall. Certainly security would be improved if people used whitelisting programs such as bit9 parity, securewave and savant protection — and I personally recommend malwarebytes’ anti-malware — but a lot of users are going to have trouble with this. The average user will probably just ignore the “you’re trying to run a program not on your whitelist” warning message or — even worse — wonder why his computer is broken when he tries to run a new piece of software.
I’ve used many Antiviruse software’s in the past but these smart Trojans seems to outsmart many Antiviruses like AVG, PCcillin, Kaspersky, Avira, F-PROT, Bitdefender, F-secure and especially Norton.
A good Antivirus is automated it runs as soon as you turn on your computer. It blocks against browser and application threats and also protects you from infected websites. If you’re doing any type of internet research and you click a back link to another site that happens to be infected with a virus or something harmful, you would be alerted immediately and that virus would be quarantined and removed. The software should continually update itself so it can stay on top of advanced spyware and virus threats that are constantly emerging on the web. The program should also block phishing sites, which try to gain access to private information such as user names and passwords to other important sites–like your bank or your credit card company.
Antivirus software is the only way to rid your computer of viruses, malware, Trojans, worms, hackers, and other internet threats. This software is much more useful to you if you understand how it operates, when to feed it and how often to walk it. This is your weapon against PC invaders.
